-- Tamara Bond, New York This free online novel-in-progress is based on the gone-but-not-forgotten TV series Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. It picks up at the end of Season 2 and goes in a whole new direction; so it should be especially interesting to anyone who, like me, thought Season 3 was passable and after that everything went to hell in a handbasket. I want to sincerely thank my fellow FourFen -- Tamara Bond (Queen Tiye), Catherine Hill (Caitronia), and especially Lillian Wolf (Una Salus Lillius) -- for their energetic encouragement, scintillating storystorming, and constructive criticism. Anasazi Anthem will contain 22 chapters (plus prologue and epilogue) in emulation of Andromeda's 22-episode seasons, which may cause an episodic and scriptive flavor that doesn't usually exist in material not written for the screen. You'll find some interesting retcon, though. The novel also assumes that the reader is familiar with Andromeda and does not need to be given Seasons 1 and 2 backstory. Unfortunately, the series' own website has apparently expired. However, for reminders of what went on in Andromeda itself, take a look at the Andromeda (TV) Wikipedia article and All Systems University. I look forward to your help in enhancing Anasazi Anthem (and especially in catching canonical errors) via your feedback. The first section was initially offered on the 10th anniversary of Andromeda's series premiere on October 2, 2000. Hopefully, the novel will be completed by the 10th anniversary of the series finale on May 13, 2005 (but no guarantees). [Well, that certainly didn't happen. Maybe for the 25th anniversary of the premiere. Or of the finale.] Chapters will become available as they are written. Each time a new chapter is added, the previous chapters will be reloaded, as they may contain changes that you or I noticed were needed. P.S. For those who ask why in heaven's name I would spend enormous amounts of time (hence the 60,000-plus words already rough-drafted) on something that won't earn me a dime, I can only invoke the hoary old phrase "labor of love". Oh, plus which, when my [late] spiritual mother Rezvanieh -- an equally avid Andromeda fan, senior citizen or no -- heard what I was aiming at in tying the Anasazi story to Progressive Revelation, she exclaimed, "Lucki joon, you have GOT to write that!" Yes, Mom. Chapter 7: And the Pride Shall Stand Chapter 8: In My Father's House Chapter 9: A Game of Bear and Cat COMING SOON (I again hope): This updated Creative Commons License applies to all the Anasazi Anthem PDF files linked to this page.
